Commonwealth Government’s National Partnership Agreement
With the establishment of the Commonwealth Government’s National Partnership Agreement with State and Territory Governments, Nexus Hospitals is in the privileged position of being able to retain all of our permanent staff, and casual staff on their usual hours during this COVID-19 outbreak. We understand the relief this has brought to our staff and their families, and Nexus Hospitals would like to thank the Commonwealth Government for their initiative to underpin the cost of private hospital (including day hospital) operations while elective surgery restrictions apply. Our commitment is to do whatever is required to manage the healthcare needs of Australians during this period.
We would also like to thank those in the State and Territory Health Departments who have been working tirelessly over the last three weeks to finalise the contracts supporting this federal assistance, demonstrating how Australians have been working together to bridge this crisis, and plan for that time when normal operations can resume. This team approach is what makes our nation resilient, and a sign that all those involved in the healthcare sector recognise they have a role to play in sustaining our world class healthcare system.
