Dr Michael Rossiter-Thornton
Nexus Hospitals would like to welcome Dr Michael Rossiter-Thornton, who joins us at our Kogarah and Crows Nest Hospitals.
Dr Rossiter-Thornton is an experienced anterior segment and cataract surgeon, with particular interest and expertise in refractive, multifocal, and complex cataract surgery, iStent insertion, and insertion of secondary sulcus (piggyback) lenses to address refractive error or provide multifocality. Consulting in Manly and Sutherland, he offers comprehensive care for all aspects of ophthalmic health, including eyelid and corneal disorders, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and corneal laser (LASIK and PRK).
Dr Rossiter-Thornton studied medicine at Sydney University and after graduating with Honours he attained two Masters degrees, while acquiring extensive surgical and ophthalmic training. He completed his ophthalmology training under the auspices of Sydney Eye Hospital and has worked extensively throughout Sydney and in regional areas of the country. In addition to his clinical work, Michael is a lecturer at Sydney University and is actively involved with training and curriculum development for the College of Ophthalmologists. He also participates in aid programmes to South East Asia.
