Welcome Dr Chris Qureshi
At Kogarah Private Hospital we are committed to investing in the technology to support our doctors and patients, and have recently introduced a Vitreo-retinal (VR) service, welcoming VR surgeon Dr Chris Qureshi to our facility.
VR surgery represents an important group of eye procedures, treating retinal diseases including retinal detachment, sometimes under emergency conditions, and introducing the service required significant investment in both staff training and equipment. This has been a critical step in providing a full suite of ophthalmic surgery at our hospital.
We’d like to give a big shout out to our staff, as well as our industry partners, Alcon, Zeiss and Designs For Vision who worked in collaboration with us to ensure a seamless introduction of the service.
We would also like to thank Dr Qureshi, for his assistance in developing the service. Chris brings over 13 years’ of eye surgery experience to Kogarah Private, having completed his initial medical degree at UNSW followed by a Masters in Medicine in Ophthalmic Science at the University of Sydney. Dr Qureshi underwent ophthalmic training at Sydney Eye Hospital and completed a fellowship at Oxford University in the UK. His thesis was on the delivery of eye care in rural and remote communities in Australia with a special emphasis on Indigenous Australians. You can find out more about Dr Qureshi’s practice here.
