Nexus Partners with Pacific Private Day Hospital
Nexus is proud to announce that we have entered into a partnership with Pacific Private Day Hospital. Pacific Private is a modern hospital with five high-quality theatres and is the leading day hospital on the Gold Coast. The facility is renowned for its high quality and efficient patient care across a casemix of ophthalmology, gastroenterology, plastic and other short stay specialities, and Nexus is excited by the opportunity to support continued growth and further serve the local community needs.
Nexus will invest alongside doctors as a major shareholder in the newly formed partnership. Pacific Private General Manager and Director of Nursing, Jane McLennan, has been instrumental to its success and will continue to lead the hospital’s experienced nursing and administrative team.
The facility’s strong reputation for providing an outstanding patient and doctor experience has driven strong demand from local specialists. Given this demand, an expansion of the hospital will be explored under the new partnership with Nexus to develop additional theatre space and overnight ward rooms. This will provide an opportunity for more specialists in existing and new specialities to utilise the hospital. We are hopeful of commencing the expansion works during 2023.
Jane McLennan commented “We are excited by the partnership with Nexus and see it as an opportunity to further develop and expand our hospital services, ensuring the Gold Coast community has access to the excellent care we provide”.
For Nexus, Pacific Private Day Hospital represents the 18th hospital in a growing portfolio of day and short stay surgical hospitals, and the second in Queensland after the recent acquisition of Bundaberg Private Day Hospital. Nexus CEO, Andrew Petering commented “We are thrilled to have a high-quality hospital like Pacific Private join our national portfolio. We’re looking forward to supporting Jane and her tremendous team in continuing to bring the highest quality of hospital care to patients and doctors in the Gold Coast region.”
The transaction underpinning the partnership settled on 30 November 2022.
