Message from the CEO
Thank you for a year of continued great care and big achievements!
2019 has been a year of great achievements for Nexus Hospitals, and I would like to start by thanking each one of our staff and all our visiting medical officers for your contribution to our most important task – caring for the patients entrusted to our hospitals. Our goal to provide an exceptional experience for every one of our patients forms the foundation on which we base everything we do. The dedication and passion of our doctors and staff, caring for patients every day, continues to build the Nexus reputation for high quality and innovative patient care.
Nexus vision to continue with new QIC partnership
We are delighted to announce that one of Australia’s largest investment managers, QIC Limited, has acquired a majority stake in Nexus Hospitals, on behalf of its managed funds and clients.
QIC brings a sophisticated, long-term, strategic approach to their investments across a range of infrastructure assets including transport, energy and utilities, and social infrastructure. QIC identified Nexus as an ideal platform to drive its growth ambitions in the healthcare sector. With a long-term investment horizon, QIC is aligned with the Nexus vision of building Australia’s premier short stay hospital group, and is committed to investing the resources necessary to bring innovation and the latest technology to the Australian healthcare system.
QIC has undertaken significant research into the healthcare sector and is fully supportive of continuing the Nexus model of partnering with doctors to offer an exceptional experience to patients within our boutique hospital facilities. QIC has also backed the existing Nexus management team to continue, and together with Nexus COO Scott Bell, Medical Director Grant Snibson and the rest of our outstanding management team, I’m looking forward to continuing the growth and success of our business.
Nexus Re-brand
As part of consolidating the Nexus Hospitals group, we have now completed the re-branding of each of our hospitals, incorporating the Nexus logo at each site, and bringing our 15 hospitals together under a single banner. We believe this unified branding better reflects our national status as a specialised private hospital group partnering with doctors to develop a tailored surgical environment providing high quality and personalised care.
In parallel, we also launched a new hospital website, focused on providing a user-friendly interface for our patients, and a tool with which our hospitals can engage with patients and carers at each stage of their hospital journey. We welcome any suggestions or feedback that could improve the website and assist with engaging and educating our patients on what to expect from their surgical experience. In closing, I’d like to take the opportunity to wish you all the very best for a very happy Festive Season and a prosperous New Year. I hope you have a safe and relaxing time with friends and family over the holiday season. We have big plans for Nexus next year and we look forward to working with you again in 2020.
