Message from the CEO
June and July have continued to be busy at Nexus, with the rebranding of Nexus’ 13 hospitals now nearly complete. Each facility has taken on a new logo, uniting the group under a single brand. This represents an important step on the Nexus journey to create a readily identifiable hospital group with a reputation of partnering with doctors to create a bespoke surgical environment.
Another hospital joins the Nexus fold
I am delighted to announce that in July we welcomed our 14th hospital to join us on that journey, with Pennant Hills Day Surgery becoming part of the Nexus Group on the 31st of July.
Pennant Hills Day Surgery, located in Sydney’s north is a modern three theatre facility currently supporting endoscopy and pain management services. Originally founded in 1987, Pennant Hills Day Surgery is owned by Dr John Napoli and is an institution in the local community, having serviced North western Sydney and the Hills area for over 30 years.
In 2015, the hospital was relocated to a new, purpose built facility at 361 Pennant Hills Road, with an architecturally designed façade which reflects the attention to clinical detail housed inside.
Pennant Hills Day Surgery complements the existing portfolio of Nexus hospitals, nurturing a strong culture of collaborative care, with services tailored to meet the exact requirements of doctors using the facility, and ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care and a positive experience as a patient. .
As well as considerably strengthening Nexus’ presence in endoscopy services, Pennant Hills Day Surgery provides Nexus with a high quality site in Sydney’s north west. In line with our successful expansion of other facilities that have joined the group, we plan to work with local specialists to expand the surgical services at this location.
I would like to welcome John Napoli and the Pennant Hills team to Nexus. John’s leadership, and his staff’s commitment to clinical excellence, has provided Nexus with an unprecedented opportunity to consolidate ourselves as leaders in the delivery of endoscopy services, as well as providing an excellent fit with our considerable experience in pain management services. It has been a pleasure getting to know this team, and we are very excited to include them as part of the Nexus group.

New Orthopaedics Services at Vermont Private
The team at Vermont Private Hospital have this month successfully commenced orthopaedic services. This has been another great example of tremendous support and teamwork with our other Nexus facilities servicing orthopaedics to implement a new service that has been delivered seamlessly. Both patients and doctors have been delighted with the level of care right from the very first list.
In line with our commitment to customising services to meet the requirements of our surgeon partners, we have developed a short stay model that is designed to allow joint replacement patients to return to the comfort of their own home in a timely fashion. As a result of the excellent work by the whole clinical team, this has resulted in the successful delivery of Australia’s first day-only total knee replacement being undertaken at Vermont Private.
This is an important step in continuing our dedication to deliver better patient outcomes. Congratulations to the whole team at Vermont Private.
