Nexus Hospitals welcomes the government’s announcement of Medicare funding for Corneal Cross Linking in the treatment of keratoconus
Nexus Hospitals welcomes the government’s announcement of Medicare funding for Corneal Cross Linking in the treatment of keratoconus, will be added to the Medicare Benefits Scheme from the 1st of May 2018, significantly improving the affordability of this procedure. This funding will allow greater community access to first line treatment of progressive keratoconus, and in suitable patients, is likely to result in better visual outcomes, and avoid more invasive treatments such as corneal transplantation.
