Novel Coronavirus – Patient and Carer Notice
To All Patients and Carers,
Nexus Hospitals is dedicated to safeguarding the health and well-being of our patients, their carers, our staff, doctors, and the broader community.
As COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses continue to circulate with varying severity, we adhere to state health directives and standard infection control measures. Our facilities continue to screen patients before admission to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Our standard precautions include:
- Asking all patients to declare if they have symptoms consistent with respiratory infections (especially fever, sore throat, or cough) before attending the hospital
- Requesting that any visitors who feel unwell or experience symptoms avoid visiting our facilities
- Promoting good hand hygiene practices upon entering and exiting the hospital
- Encouraging social distancing to minimise the risk of transmission through casual contact
- Regularly cleaning all surfaces to reduce the risk of transmission
- In some cases, requiring patients to provide a negative test result before undergoing surgery. Instructions on testing will be provided prior to surgery.
For further information, infection control posters are available in each facility.
It is important to highlight that Nexus Hospitals do not admit patients requiring medical care for respiratory infections, and so no known COVID-19 positive patients are accepted at any of our hospitals. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these preventive measures. Our priority is to keep everyone safe and healthy as COVID-19 remains in our community.
If you have any concerns or need more information, please contact the General Manager/Director of Nursing at your respective hospital. Visit our individual hospital pages on this site for contact details.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Yours faithfully,
Nexus Hospitals Group
