Renewable Power Deal with Origin Energy
Nexus Hospitals is delighted to be part of a consortium of seven businesses, led by QIC, benefiting from a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Australian electricity and natural gas company Origin Energy Ltd. Under the long-term PPA, our NSW and Victorian hospitals will be 100% powered by renewable energy from January 2025. The source of the energy will be Australia’s largest wind farm, the Stockyard Hill facility near Ballarat in Victoria.
The scale of QIC’s infrastructure division underpins specific renewable energy projects for the future of energy in Australia and for the benefit of all consumers. For Nexus, we believe this gives us a game-changing opportunity to pursue our sustainability goals, and be seen as leading the healthcare sector in the renewable energy market.
Nexus is proud to play a role in reducing electricity costs and greenhouse gas emissions, and we are committed to pursuing similar projects across our other states and territories.
